John: I would go with West Side Story for sure as one of them. It would be the perfect choice, there's lots to analyze and you can compare it to Romeo and Juliet, which is very, very easy.
What kind of analyzation are we talking here, though? ~~~Ali~~~

oh well not so much the movie or story part of it just the music. I have to write a paragraph on each song..... come up with a name for it.... and i think that's it. The only thing is... if the movie has 50 songs in it... i have to do that for 50 songs.

It helps to have a musician in the family! I have several musicals in my library...some on DVD, some on VHS. I can definitely help you with analyzing some music...I have to do that myself, either when listening to it, playing it, or reading it.
I've got musicals ranging from "Chicago" all the way to a children's musical called "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." But what kind of "analysis" are we talking about here? Like, analyzing the form of the song? What's the deal?

Nah, we did that already. I need to watch 3 musicals and for each song... I have to come up with a name for the song, note how many times the camera angle changes, and any other little notes about the song. It's fairly simple it's just that I don't own any musicals. Maybe my sister does... but I hardly ever see her.
